About UNC SILS
The Dean's Achievement Award is presented annually to two students who produce the highest quality master's papers. The purpose of the award is to encourage excellence in student research and writing. Eligible papers - those completed in the summer prior to the award year and those completed during the academic year of the award - are judged by a faculty committee.

The award is a cash prize and a certificate of recognition.
