Registration Procedures

Registration for INLS 101 and 200 is open for any class level.  Registration for all other INLS courses is restricted to SILS students for a brief time at the beginning of each registration period, but then open to other students at UNC.  Approval of any elective is done through student services.  If your choice of elective is a class not on the provided list, please attach a syllabus to the request form.  Some 200-699-level classes require prerequisites or instructor permission; please see the SILS course descriptions.  Some 400-699 -level classes are restricted entry, so that registration is done solely through student services and SILS graduate students get priority; you will have access to any available seats.  Note that Student Services can add INLS classes and can drop any class (not solely INLS classes) at any point in the registration window set by the Registrar; i.e., Student Services staff are not restricted to the ‘open registration’ period.
