Printing in the Lab
Printing from a SILS Lab Computer
There are two printers in the SILS Lab, one black-and-white and one color. The SILS Lab computers can access the SILSQue1 on AUXPRINT2 for black and white printing. This is the laser printer at the printing station next to the lab attendant's desk.
**Please Note: to print to the Lab's black-and-white printer, you must have money on your OneCard. UNC's printing allocation for students does not work with the SILS printer. Printing costs 5 cents per page.
To print black and white pages
-
When printing a document from a SILS lab computer select "SILSQue1 on AUXPRINT2" from the list of available printers.
-
You'll get a popup box that asks you to enter your Onyen username and the name of your print job. It doesn't really matter what you enter for the name, it just needs to be something you can recognize.
-
Once you have sent the print job, go to the Pharos station next to the door of the Lab, swipe your OneCard, and choose the print job you want to release.

-
At the printer, respond to prompts about paper size and type.
-
Hit the green button on the printer to begin printing.

Your pages will go to the color printer next to the lab attendant. See the lab assistant to pick up the pages.
