Printing from a SILS Lab Computer
There are two printers in the SILS Lab, one black-and-white and one color. The SILS Lab computers are tied to the CCI printer for black-and-white printing.
Color printing is limited to no more than 5 pages per day. If you need more than 5 pages printed in color, please see the alternate locations here: http://help.unc.edu/help/its-labs-cci-printing-faqs/#P54_4654
In the print dialogue box of the application your working in, select "sils_lab_color" from the printer dropdown menu. If the color printer is not listed there, please see the section below on "Adding the color printer"
Please note: You will not have to name your print job or swipe your card. Your pages will go to the color printer at the Help Desk. See the Lab Assistant to pick up the pages.
Adding the color printer
If \\sils-pelican\sils-lab-color is not set up on the computer you are working on or the SILS username you used to sign in, you can set it as a network printer.
Go to Start → Run and click OK
In list of available printers, highlight SILS-Lab-Color
Right-click on the SILS-Lab-Color printer and choose "Connect"
Click "Yes" to install the drivers
The color printer is now setup.
