Turn the camera on by pushing forward the grey power on/off tab that is on the top right of the camera beside the circular knob.

Look at the circular knob on the top right of the camera. The knob should be set on the green camera icon. This means that the green camera icon will be on the side of the knob closest to the center of the camera, opposite from the power on/off tab.

Check to see if there is a disk (a mini CD-RW) in the camera. Locate the OPEN tab on the left side of the camera. To open the disk bay, slide the middle part of the tab forward and then slide the entire tab down. The disk door will pop open. If there is no disk in the camera, notify the lab attendant. Once you have inserted a disk, simply close the disk bay door.

To take a photo, aim the camera at the object you wish to photograph and hold down the silver button at the top right of the camera for one second and release. The camera the screen will say Recording, and you will hear a quiet buzz. You are now ready to take another photograph.

Before the computer can read the files on your CD, the CD must be finalized. To finalize your images, move the top right knob from the green camera icon setting to SET UP.

Look at the camera screen. You should now see a list titled DISC TOOL, with FINALIZE as the first option on the list.

To highlight FINALIZE, click the right arrow tab on the black circular button on the back of the computer. (The right tab corresponds to the flower icon.) Click the right arrow once more to get the options OK and CANCEL. Use the up arrow tab (corresponding to the lightning bolt) to highlight "OK." Next push in the center of the black circular button where the small raised circle appears. This will save your selection.

The camera screen will turn blue and at the bottom right of the screen the system will ask you if you wish to proceed with the finalization. Use the arrow tab buttons to make your selection. Place the camera on a flat surface where it will not move or vibrate. Then push in the center of the black circular button where the small raised circle appears. The camera should begin the finalization now. The entire process takes about a minute, longer if there are a lot of images to save. When the process has finished, the menu for DISC TOOL will reappear.

Remove the CD from the camera and place it into the CD drive of the computer. The computer will automatically read the disk and ask you what you want to do.

Choose Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer. The computer will then take you to the folder where your images are stored. Copy the ones you want to the computer.

With the CD back in the camera, set the top right knob control to SET UP.

FORMAT is the second choice on the display screen under FINALIZE.

Use the black arrow buttons on the back of the camera to select Format.

The camera will warn you that formatting the disk will cause you to lose all your pictures. That's OK because that's what you want to do.

Press "OK".
