The battery should be on the right, and the memory stick, which is blue, should be on the left. If a memory stick is not in the camera, find one in the bag, and insert it right-side up with the arrow pointing toward the camera. Close the panel.
To take a photo, hold the camera in both hands and center your object in the LCD screen. Press and hold the shutter (the larger of the two buttons in front of the dial) halfway down. When the green light on the LCD screen changes from flashing to steadily lit, the camera is ready to take photos.
Press the shutter button fully down to take your photo. The image will be recorded in the memory stick.
Set the mode dial to the square with the arrow inside of it.
Use the left and right arrows on the control button to scroll through your images.
In review mode (see previous step), go to the image you would like to delete.

Using the right arrow on the control button, set Moving Image to MPEG movie.
Set the mode dial to the film icon, which is between Set Up and the boxed arrow on the knob.
Hit the button and, using the arrow buttons, select your image size (the larger the size, the higher the quality). Hit the button again to make the menu disappear.
Press the shutter button fully down.
