create a DVD using the Pioneer DVD recorder

The Pioneer DVD Recorder makes it easy to create DVDs from digital video or videotapes. You can transfer video using the lab's [ http://sils.unc.edu/itrc/its/lab_resources/multimedia_detail.htm#camcorder ] Canon GL2 digital video recorder (which SILS students may check out), from the VCR or from analog camcorders connected to the DVD recorder.

Before you create a DVD, consider first recording your video to the hard disk drive (HDD) of the DVD recorder. This will allow you to edit your content before burning it to DVD. It also makes it quick to make multiple copies. Once your recording is on the HDD, you can then easily burn it to a DVD. If you want to burn directly from your source to a DVD, you need only do steps 1 and 2 .

 Connecting to the DVD Recorder

  1. GL2 digital video camera: Use the red digital video (DV) cable to connect the DV in/out jack of the GL2 to the front panel DV in/out jack of the recorder.
