Online Resources

Many resources and support documents can be found online. The SILS Computer Lab maintains a FAQ (frequently asked questions) list on the SILS Lab website. The Lab website also contains a comprehensive list of the Lab software and information on Lab equipment.

The University's Information Technology Services group also maintains a complete set of support documents about the campus network, email, popular software, computing policies, computer security and much, much more at the ITS Help & Support page.

Documentation Shelves

The Documentation Shelves contain numerous manuals for the software installed on the Lab computers, as well as books on the latest programming and scripting languages, networking, and database development. Please keep in mind that these reference materials may only be used by people in the SILS commmunity and many not be removed from the SILS Lab. To borrow one of these volumes, take the book from the shelf and give your UNC OneCard to the Lab Assistant on duty.
