Stephanie Peterson and Aaron Brubaker win staff excellence awards

Stephanie Peterson, assistant manager of student services, and Aaron Brubaker, assistant director of instructional technology, have received the 2008 SILS Staff Excellence Award.

Nominations are accepted by faculty, staff and students and selected by a Nomination Committee on the basis of meeting the criteria for the award, which includes demonstration of:

  1. Excellence:  Individual provides outstanding service and goes the extra mile above and beyond the call of duty when necessary, is helpful and considerate of others.
  2. Commitment:  Individual is committed beyond the usual expectation regarding work performance, has dedication to and overall knowledge of the operation, is dependable and readily available to assist faculty, staff, and students.
  3. Teamwork:  Individual has strong “people skills”, enhances cooperation, morale and teamwork, is responsive to others regarding work and has a positive supportive attitude.  Mentors new staff and helps with turnover transitions. 
  4. Outstanding Service:  Maintains a high quality of work, consistently exceeds requirements, finds solutions to difficult and complex situations, implements new programs and/or ideas for smoother office operation. 

Along with the certificates, each will receive $500 and three additional paid days of leave. Their names will also be submitted for the Chancellor’s Award next spring.

A ceremony was held in the Public Domain of Manning Hall on Oct. 14.

“Today, we recognize Stephanie and Aaron and all of our employees who provide continuous outstanding service to the School,” said Dean José-Marie Griffiths.
