Call for Participation for WWW2010 Conference
Oct. 2, 2009 - WWW2010, the 19th International World Wide Web conference is coming April 26-30, 2010, at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, N.C. The Organizing Committee welcomes the participation of researchers from around the world to submit original and pioneering research related to the Web for presentation and discussion next April in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Fifth Annual iConference, Feb. 3-6, 2010, at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, brings together scholars, professionals and students who come from diverse backgrounds and share interests in working at the nexus of people, information and technology.

ALA President Dr. Camilla Alire to speak
American Library Association president Dr. Camilla Alire will present "Advancing your career through service, leadership, advocacy and diversity" at 2 p.m. in the Pleasants Assembly Room in the Wilson Library on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A reception sponsored by the SILS Student Chapter of the American Library Association (SCALA) and the SILS Information and Library Science Student Association (ILSSA).
Dr. Alire will also offer an evening presentation at North Carolina Central University at 7 p.m. Her talk, entitled, "Who's job is it anyway? Library Advocacy from the frontlines" will take place in the School of Education Auditorium. A reception is planned for this free public event.

17th annual Winter Stories Program for Children of All Ages
Brian Sturm and Kate Barnhart return to continue this cherished tradition of words and music. The festivities will begin with a 5:00 p.m. Reception in the Wilson Library Lobby, followed by a 5:45 p.m. Program in the Pleasants Family Assembly Room.
