"If Only in My Dreams" - a side dish of readings to benefit food bank
Nov. 28, 2007 - The Deep Dish Theatre Company will present another of its Side Dish events, "If Only in My Dreams," on Friday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. Admission for the evening of readings is a suggested donation of $5 or a non-perishable food item, with proceeds to benefit the Inter-faith Council’s Food Bank.
"If Only in My Dreams" will feature seasonal pieces by such authors as Emily Dickinson, Ron Carlson, Robert Olen Butler, Wallace Stevens and John Cheever. The stories will be read by David Berberian (who appeared in the Deep Dish production of "Polish Joke"), Sherida McMullan (most recently seen at Deep Dish in "The Exonerated"), Carole Marcotte (who performed in Deep Dish’s "Ancestral Voices") and David Carr, associate professor of the School of Information and Library Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (who co-directs the Deep Dish book discussions and is a veteran of the Deep Dish short story evenings).
The Deep Dish Theatre is located in the University Mall in Chapel Hill, NC at 201 South Estes Drive. The Theatre is near Dillards Department Store across from Walden Books.
