SLA president to visit SILS

Cynthia Hill, president of the SLA, will meet with students at the School of Information and Library Science April 29.

The UNC Student Chapter of SLA will host the 10 a.m. event in Manning 304 and provide light refreshments. Anyone interested in special libraries or the information profession is invited to attend.

Hill will be the keynote speaker at the North Carolina SLA's annual meeting in Durham that day. For more information about the meeting, visit http://www.sla.org/chapter/cnc/.

In addition to her role as SLA President, Hill is the Director of the SunLibrary and Learning Technology at Sun Microsystems Inc. in Palo Alto, Calif. She is also an adjunct professor at San Jose State University's School of Library and Information Science.

SLA is a global nonprofit organization for information professionals that focuses on learning, advocacy and networking initiatives for its members.
