Live webcast to focus on institutional repositories

Could an institutional repository enhance the university's visibility and prestige? Can UNC build on strengths in academic technologies and interdisciplinary collaboration to develop such a strategic initiative? Panelists will discuss these issues and more in a live, interactive webcast June 10.

The free public webcast, “Scholarly Research: Preserve It Locally, Share It Globally,” will be at 3 p.m. in 08 Gardner Hall. Click here to download a flier for posting.

Rick Johnson, enterprise director of The Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition, will moderate the panel. Panelists will include:

•  Susan Gibbons, assistant dean for public services and collection development, University of Rochester, River Campus Libraries;

•  Daniel Greenstein, associate vice provost for scholarly information, University Librarian for Systemwide Library Planning and the California Digital Library (CDL); and,

•  Kathleen Shearer, research associate, Canadian Association of Research Libraries.

The webcast is by the Association of Research Libraries, The Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition and the Canadian Association for Research Libraries.
