Reception for students set for Sept. 10

All students, faculty, staff and alumni of the School of Information and Library Science are cordially invited to a reception in honor of new students hosted by the SILS Alumni Association from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, in the lobby of Manning Hall.

The annual event is an opportunity to meet new classmates, chat with your colleagues at SILS, network with local library and information professionals, and enjoy refreshments.

During the reception, the Alumni Association will hold a drawing for the Elfreda Chatman Fund for Books and Research. Scholarships ranging from $50 to $100 will be offered to graduate students, undergraduate majors and undergraduate minors. The drawing will take place at 5:15 p.m., and you must attend to put your name in the drawing.

The Alumni Association's annual business meeting will precede the reception, scheduled from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Manning Hall, Room 215. Business will include a vote on proposed changes to the Association's constitution and by-laws.
