| John MacMullen, a doctoral student in the UNC at Chapel Hill School of Information and Library Science, has won the 2003 Student Travel Award from the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIST) Special Interest Group on Scientific and Technical Information Systems. Applicants are judged based on their academic preparation in both the sciences and in information science, purpose for attending the conference and career goals. MacMullen, who will receive a $600 grant, will present the poster "PROMIS: An XML-based Metadata Framework for Proteomics" at the ASIST conference to be held Oct. 20-23 in Long Beach, Calif. |
