Abe Crystal
Abe Crystal co-founded MoreBetterLabs and works alongside fellow SILS graduate Jackson Fox (MSIS '05). Abe says that their primary mission is to build ruzuku.
"Ruzuku helps passionate experts (such as authors, speakers and coaches) create online learning communities," said Abe. "For example, Marlene Hielema, a photography instructor, has used ruzuku to share her expertise and help many new people learn digital photography techniques. Abe has also used ruzuku for teaching at SILS (Abe was an adjunct instructor for "Organization of Information" last fall)."
MoreBetterLabs is also a user experience design agency. Abe and Jackson work with clients (such as ChannelAdvisor, Phonebooth.com, Princeton University, Duke University, North Carolina State University libraries, and NC LIVE), to improve the user experience of Web sites, mobile applications and software. They also have been working on sharing their methods through speaking and training. Abe recently conducted a workshop on usability testing [morebetterlabs.com/events/practical-usability-testing-workshop/], and they're looking at offering additional workshops on user experience research and design.
"I regularly apply the qualitative and quantitative research skills I developed while at SILS -- especially conducting interviews and analyzing research data," said Abe.
