Generally reserve items, some periodicals and non-print materials, items which are assumed lost, and items which have been requested by another borrower cannot be renewed.
To renew online from the UNC Libraries, Faculty, Students and Staff will be prompted to input their PID numbers, and all other borrowers their Library Borrowers Card number. Gaining access to individual borrower information will require the use of PIN numbers. All patrons will be issued temporary PIN numbers based on the last four digits of either PID numbers or Borrower Card numbers. To activate use of this online service, however, patrons must change the PIN to a four digit number of their own choosing, when first using this option.
Patrons who forget their PINs must contact either the HSL, Law, or Davis Library Circulation Desk and provide designated Circulation supervisors with PID or Borrower Card ID numbers plus either, their SSNs or current address and phone numbers, in order for a new temporary PIN assignment, otherwise they will be required to present current user IDs with picture ID at the HSL, Law, or Davis Library Circulation Desk.
Renewals in Person
Take the item along with your student ID, UNC One Card, or Borrower's Card to the circulation desk of the library that owns the item.
