This year’s WWW Conference promises to be the most exciting and informative yet—featuring the likes of Internet founder Sir Tim Berners-Lee and Vint Cerf, known as the "father of the Internet."  Cerf, who currently serves as the vice president and Chief Internet Evangelist for Google, will be featured as one of three keynote speakers at the conference alongside danah boyd and Carl Malamud.

One of the six panel members for the conference’s opening plenary session, is SILS’s own Paul Jones, co-chair of the conference.  Jones heads one of the first Web sites to go online.  Beginning in its earliest days as SunSITE, today ibiblio.org is one of the largest collections of collections on the Internet and one of the crown jewels housed at SILS.

For more information on the WWW Conference’s history and topics related to this year’s proceedings, be sure to check out the conference Web site.

What an exciting time to be a student or faculty member at SILS!  With the Raleigh Convention Center only minutes away, this year’s conference provides a rare opportunity to access with ease a variety of panel talks, paper presentations, and networking opportunities. Be sure not to miss it.
