SILS alumna, Suchi Mohanty, appointed head of UNC's Undergraduate Library

Suchi MohantySuchi Mohanty (M.S.L.S. '02), an alumna of the School of Information and Library Science (SILS) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, began her duties as the new head of the R.B. House Undergraduate Library at the UNC at Chapel Hill on June 4, 2012.

In this role, Mohanty provides vision and leadership for services that support information, learning and teaching. She directs development of the Undergraduate Library’s collections and oversees provision of services. She also manages the overall administration of the library, including planning, assessment, program development, facilities and budget.

Mohanty has served as interim head of the Undergraduate Library since January, and was previously the Undergraduate Collections and Research Services librarian.

Mohanty received her M.S.L.S. from SILS in 2002 and served as a member of the SILS Alumni Association Executive Board. She holds a B.A. in English from Mary Washington College (University of Mary Washington) in Fredericksburg, Va.
