SILS Faculty and Staff Participate in Jingle Bell Jog

Jingle Bell Jog - SILSStaff and faculty of the School of Information and Library Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill participated in the University's annual Jingle Bell Jog on Dec. 6, 2013.

Shaundria Williams, human resources coordinator, organized the team that included: Lara Bailey, student services coordinator and faculty members Evelyn Daniel, dean emerita and Brian Sturm, associate professor - along with Margarita, Evelyn's faithful golden Labrador.  The group, which called themselves the SILS Bookers, had matching tee shirts of Manning Hall and wore holly to complete their festive costumes.

The Jingle Bell Jog is a three mile fun run or 1.5 mile walk open to all UNC faculty and staff. In the past, over 500 participants have completed the Jingle Bell Jog as either part of a team or individually. The event is designed to promote physical activity, health and well-being.

"The event promotes physical activity, health and well-being and provides employees with the opportunity to contribute to the Glenwood Elementary Family Assistance Program by making a canned food donation. In addition, pet donations will be given to the Orange County Animal Shelter." Refreshments were provided to participants after the event.
