SILS Student John Mark Bojanski presents poster at Medical Library Association's Annual Meeting

October 15, 2013

John Mark BolanskiUniversity of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Information and Library Science (SILS) master’s student John Mark Bojanski presented a poster at the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Medical Library Association's (MAC/MLA) annual meeting in Pittsburgh from Oct. 13-15. The poster, which he co-authored with Drs. Barbara Renner and Karen Crowell of the Health Sciences Library, is entitled "Rebirth of a Radio Show Website Leads to New Roles and New Publicity for Librarians.”

“My poster is about the new page I created on titled ‘Behind the Scenes,’ which documents and explains all the ways that the librarians help the show, as well as providing online resources and tools to consumers, health professionals, and health librarians,” said Bojanski.

YOUR HEALTH® radio is a weekly show produced by the UNC Department of Family Medicine and hosted by physicians Dr. Cristy Page and Dr. Adam Goldstein. The purpose of the show is to provide easy-to-understand health information to listeners.

This year’s MAC/MLA annual meeting will be the first professional conference ever attended by Bojanski.

“I am most excited to see how health librarians from different institutions talk about their experiences and learn from each other,” Bojanski said.

To attend the conference, Bojanski was awarded an MAC/MLA Vision Scholarship and an ANCHASL (Association of North Carolina Health and Science Libraries) Continuing Education Scholarship. These scholarships cover Bojanski’s registration and other conference expenses.

Congratulations, John Mark, on this outstanding achievement.
