This year, for the first time ever, the annual iConference will recognize its outstanding reviewers. One of the reviewers to be honored with this award, Frances Carroll McColl Term Professor Christopher (Cal) Lee, hails from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s iSchool, the School of Information and Library Science (SILS).
According to the conference Web site, “Much of the success of the iConference lies in the selfless work of volunteers who review the hundreds of submission received each year. This year’s organizers have chosen to honor this commitment with a special award recognizing outstanding reviewer dedication.”
Lee is one of only six recipients who will receive the awards. The recipients will be recognized during iConference 2014 that will be held in March in Berlin, Germany.
“Those who review conference papers and posters are essential to the quality of the program,” said Dr. Gary Marchionini, SILS dean and Cary C. Boshamer Distinguished Professor. “Conference organizers rely on the expertise of these reviewers to ensure that criteria are met and submissions represent the conference goals. “Congratulations to Cal on the award for his exceptional dedication and review skills.”
This year’s conference is titled “Breaking Down Walls: Culture, Context, Computing.” The conference is now in its 9th year, and this will be the first time it is held in Europe.
