Jennifer Lohmann (MSLS '06), 2010 Romance Writers of America Librarian of the Year, UNC at Chapel Hill School of Information and Library Science (SILS) alumna and Durham County Library librarian, has released two new novels, Weekends in Carolina and A Promise for the Baby.
Weekends in Carolina features Trey Harris who wants nothing to do with his late father's farm. In fact, he can't get rid of it fast enough so he can enjoy his city life. Then he meets Maxine "Max" Backstrom—the gorgeous woman leasing the land. Between her passion for his family's farm and her determination to show him its beauty…well, Trey can't stop thinking about what it would be like to kiss her!
Still, their lives are worlds apart. If he sells, her livelihood vanishes. But his interests aren't here. And no matter how magical their weekends together are, this can't lead to anything…can it?
In A Promise for the Baby he always does the right thing, but there's one exception to Karl Milek's rule—the Vegas weekend that leaves him with a night to remember, and a beautiful new wife he'd rather forget. Those divorce papers are put on hold, however, when Vivian shows up on his doorstep pregnant.
Karl offers her shelter and everything else she needs until their baby is born. Yet soon he realizes that he could definitely get used to seeing Vivian in the mornings, sharing dinner with her at night… and inhaling her jasmine scent. But he doesn't think he can risk giving his wife the one thing she wants most—his love.
Published by Harlequin, the two latest novels are additions to Lohmann’s previous novels, The First Move and Reservation for Two. Her next novel, which is expected to be published in September, is Winning Ruby Heart that highlights a race to their beginning…
Exposing world-class athlete Ruby Heart's cheating scandal five years ago made reporter Micah Blackwell's career. Falling in love with her now could end it. Yet watching her determination to return to the top, he can't resist the woman she has become.
Working with Ruby to tell America her story, Micah falls deeper under her spell. But at a crucial moment, his feelings for her conflict with his job—the very thing that once saved him. Now he must choose between his skyrocketing career and the unlikely love of a good woman.
Lohmann will be signing books and speaking at the Southwest Regional Library in Durham, NC on Sunday, June 29th at 3 p.m. and at the Chapel Hill Public Library in Chapel Hill, NC on Thursday, June 12th at 3:30 p.m.
The novels may be purchased at online retailers, bookstores and department stores.
