UNC School of Information and Library Science graduate student Mea Warren has been honored with the 2014 Sara Aull Student Award. The award, sponsored by the North Carolina Special Libraries Association (NCSLA), was presented to Warren at the NCSLA annual awards celebration, held November 6.
For winning this award, Warren will receive a one-year paid SLA membership and the opportunity to serve on an NCSLA committee beginning in January 2015. Although committee appointments have not yet been finalized, Warren hopes her appointment will allow her to work to recruit new members and engage fellow students.
“It is good to know that a professional organization like NCSLA sees promise in me as a future leader in the organization and in the field of librarianship,” Warren said. “I believe winning awards like this one helps confirm my career decision in being a librarian, and makes me excited about entering the professional world and networking within the organization.”
Congratulations, Mea, on earning this honor.
