SILS Alumnus, Simon O'Riordan, Selected as Research Library Fellow

Simon OriordonUniversity of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Information and Library Science (SILS) recent graduate Simon O'Riordan (MSLS'14) has been selected to be the 2014-2016 Research Library Fellow at Emory University in the Emory Center for Digital Scholarship (ECDS).

The Fellows position is awarded to a graduate of a Master's program who demonstrates leadership potential and a strong commitment to academic library science.

The two-year appointment will provide O'Riordan with opportunities to cultivate expertise in digital innovations, special collections and customer-centered library operations. In addition to contributing to special projects in research library services, O'Riordan will conduct primary work in digital services, developing expertise in "digital publishing, data curation and preservation, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and digital pedagogy."
