Yearbooks from the reunion classes of 1954, 1959, 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, and 2004 will be on view, along with other items from the library’s historic collections. Visitors can also view a special photographic slide show celebrating the class of ’64 and featuring music from the Southern Folklife Collection.
Two exhibitions will be open during the afternoon:
- Making a People’s Theatre: Proff Koch and the Carolina Playmakers (North Carolina Collection Gallery)
- Imagining the U.S. Civil War, 1861-1900 (Melba Remig Saltarelli Exhibit Room).
In addition, the Rare Book Collection will have a special display from its holdings in the Grand Reading Room.
Wilson Library is located on the south side of Polk Place, opposite South Building. It is home to the North Carolina Collection; the Rare Book Collection; the Southern Historical and Southern Folklife collections; and University Archives and Records Management Services.
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
