Justin Kreft’s research on body camera data featured in ‘endeavors’

July 23, 2015

As more and more police officers begin wearing body cameras, agencies must grapple with the best ways to manage and store the massive amounts of data collected by these devices.  Justin Kreft, a master’s student studying public administration and information science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is collecting information to help agencies determine how much data they can expect from these cameras and how to best organize the files.

Kreft’s research is the focus of the article “Files for Miles: Body Cams Cause Big Data Problems” published July 7 by endeavors, the online magazine of research and creative activity at UNC-Chapel Hill. Click here to read the full article.
