Alumna Lynn Zimmerman selected as Fulbright Scholar

Dr. Lynn W. Zimmerman (MSLS '96), alumna of the School of Information and Library Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Professor Emerita from Purdue University Calumet’s College of Education, has been selected to serve as a Fulbright Scholar for the 2015-2016 academic year.

In the fall of 2015 she will be at Baranovichi State University in Baranovichi, Belarus, where she will be teaching students in the English language teacher program. During the spring of 2016 she will be at the International Relations Institute of Moldova in Chisinau, Moldova, teaching undergraduate and graduate elective courses in English related to culture and intercultural communication.

Zimmerman earned her Ph.D. from UNC-Greensboro in 2002. She was a 2009 Fulbright Scholar at the University of Wroclaw in Poland and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Poland from 1992 to 1994. In 2013, Jewish Studies and Holocaust Education in Poland, a book she authored with other contributing scholars, was published by McFarland.
