The UNC School of Information and Library Science (SILS) now has four bikes for students, staff, and faculty to use around campus. The bikes are ‘comfort’ bikes with nice seats, three gears, fenders and chain guards, and coaster brakes. SILS community members can simply unlock the bikes, take them where they need to go on campus, and then bring them back to Manning Hall. (Lock combinations were sent via SILS listserv announcements. Stop by the main office in Manning 100 if you can’t locate the email.)
UNC also debuted its own bike share program, Tar Heel Bikes! One hundred bikes, decked out in Carolina blue, were supplied by Gotcha Bike and sponsored for the first year by Burt’s Bees. The bikes are now available for students, faculty, and staff to check out. To learn more about the campus wide bike share program, click here.
