Amelia Gibson, Assistant Professor in the UNC School of Information and Library Science (SILS), gave the keynote address at the Big Ten Academic Alliance Library Conference on May 23 at the University of Michigan. The 2019 conference theme was Equitable Access: Accessibility Driving Innovation in Libraries.
Among other topics, Gibson discusses the SILS Symposium on Information for Social Good and her spring 2019 special topics course “Disability Informatics and Information,” for which she recruited outside experts to address topics such as frameworks for understanding disability, disability and the law, and designing enabling technology.
