Prior to joining VCU in 2016, Weiss was the senior associate vice chancellor for finance and administration at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she directed the university’s financial, budget, treasury, and accounting operations. During her more than a decade at UNC, she also served as associate vice chancellor for business services and administration, associate vice chancellor for campus safety and risk management and held positions at the university’s law school as associate dean for administration, finance and information technology and as assistant dean for information technology.
In addition to her PhD from SILS, Weiss holds master’s degrees in business administration and information science from North Carolina Central University, a master’s degree in instructional technology from East Carolina University, and a bachelor’s degree in human resources from the University of Delaware.
"The PhD program at SILS was an amazing experience that has forever changed my life," Weiss said. "The faculty members I was fortunate enough to work alongside were wonderful and my fellow students have not only become important colleagues, but also lifelong friends. The education I received at SILS has transformed my academic career, and I am forever grateful."
