Students must apply and be admitted before taking part in the Certificate in Applied Data Science (CADS) program.
Enrollment is currently limited to UNC undergraduate students and is restricted to students with majors that are not traditionally data science focused and non-degree seeking students in any career field. Please note currently enrolled UNC students majoring in information science, computer science, or statistics are not eligible.
Eligible undergraduate students should review the certificate program prerequisites and apply using the online form. Application deadlines are October 22 for spring enrollment and March 15 for fall enrollment.
Non-degree seeking students should apply using applynow.unc.edu, selecting 'Graduate' and application type 'Certificate or Post Bacc Program'. You will be asked to provide supplemental documentation of previous data/programming experience. This can be a written statement, former transcripts or certificates, or other materials.
Once the CADS admission committee reviews the applications, accepted students will be notified via email or SLATE.
If you have questions, please email CADS@unc.edu.
