Metadata Specialist for Non-Profit Foundation

We are seeking a Metadata Specialist to join our (CDAT) Core Digital Applications Team to both manage the day-to-day administration and maintenance of the IB’s metadata records, and to contribute to the strategic metadata vision of the organization.

As Metadata Specialist, you will develop and implement metadata processes for the organization and help guide the creation of a new metadata model within our in-progress ECMS.

The person in this role will advise project/product teams by assisting in the gathering and articulation of metadata requirements, planning testing of metadata in systems, and training staff to create and manage metadata in systems or to support products.

You will play a key role in enterprise systems development by supplying the essential metadata specifications and data structures to third party software developers that enable systems to efficiently and consistently manage content.

You will partner with our content-creating departments to advise, train and support staff members who interact with metadata as a part of the content creation or content management process as well as advise on matters of metadata policy and proper uses of metadata models as well as work closely with IT, vendor partners, and contracted staff to implement metadata models, processes, and systems and be able to exert considerable influence over staff participating in metadata workflows.

Data Curation Engineer for Biotech Company

In this role you will be accountable for designing and implementing a data curation and harmonization strategy that adds value to data and aids the insight development process.

You will work closely with scientists, external collaborators, and contract research organizations to help store and provide access to large, complex, and diverse biological datasets.

You will develop schemas to accurately capture and document experimental results and methods at an appropriate technical level. You will advise and assist scientists and data scientists in best practices for biological metadata management.
