The SILS Alumni Association (SILSAA) invites nominations for the 2021 SILS Distinguished Alumni Award until Feb. 28.

The award recognizes alumni who have demonstrated outstanding professional library or information science achievements at national, state, or local levels, or who have provided outstanding service to SILS or SILSAA.

To nominate someone who fits the above profile, please fill out the brief nomination form. Nominations are accepted year-round, but to have your candidate considered for the 2021 award, please submit your nomination by Sunday, Feb. 28.

PLEASE NOTE:

• You need not be a graduate of SILS or UNC-Chapel Hill to nominate a candidate for this award.
• Number of years in the profession shall not alone determine a candidate’s qualification. In giving the award, the association will balance between giving the award for professional promise and giving it primarily as an award for longevity of service at the time of retirement.
• A list of past award winners may be found on the SILS website.
