Xavier Nonez, a junior minoring in information systems at the UNC School of Information and Library Science (SILS), was one of three students awarded the UNC Harvey Beech Scholarship in 2020.

Nonez is majoring in business administration and plans to pursue a career infused with business and tech. He serves on the executive board of the Carolina Sports Business Club, works as an Office Assistant at Hinton James residence hall, and serves as the Treasurer of the Mu Zeta chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He is also the incoming Co-President of the Minority Business Student Alliance.
