SILS plans NYC Career Trek

Join SILS in the ‘city that never sleeps’ to explore special libraries, performing arts archives, the financial industry’s information management, and public librarianship initiatives through the New York Public Library (NYPL) system. Both graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to participate in this Spring Break opportunity.

Itinerary highlights:

March 12: A panel presentations at two corporate offices in mid-town Manhattan. The theme for the day will be ‘how we use data’’ and will include discussions on modern corporate consulting tools to manage data. The day will start at 9:00am.

March 13: Visits to The Lincoln Center Library and the Science, Industry and Business Library (SIBL) of the New York Public Library (NYPL).

March 14: Two programs at NYPL at 42nd Street. The Career Trek will conclude by 3:00pm that afternoon.

Program cost:
The cost of the program is $600 per student. This fee includes three nights of hotel lodging in a double hotel room, with breakfast provided by the hotel, and one additional meal per day provided by SILS. Travel to NYC and back is not included.
