Amelia Gibson, Assistant Professor at the UNC School of Information and Library Science (SILS), recently talked with Focus on Carolina, a WCHL radio program, for a two-part segment about her research. Gibson studies how autistic people and their families seek and exchange information in their local communities with a special emphasis on the role libraries can play.

Gibson also discussed her spring special topics course “Disability Informatics and Information.” She has recruited outside experts to address several topics such as frameworks for understanding disability, disability and the law, and designing enabling technology. =
